Spring is so wondrous in so many ways: the snow begins to melt, the days are longer and the spring flowers begin to bloom.  For many of us, spring flowers may conjure up images of pastel colored tulips or perhaps the bright yellow of a daffodil.  But there are so many other flowers that are synonymous with spring - orchids, hyacinth, freesia and peonies.  With so many beautiful blooms in season, no wonder so many Vail and Beaver Creek brides choose spring weddings!

Here is a sampling of what spring has to offer at Cedar’s – not just tulips and daffodils…

Amaryllis – Known for their deep red hue, amaryllis, with their broad petals, can truly make a monochromatic arrangement pop!

Daisy – We all know a daisy! This sweet and simple flower is an all-American favorite for adults and children alike. Their petals come in a variety of hues: traditional white, yellow and lavender.  Nothing welcomes spring like the feminine daisy.

Dahlia – These beauties can bloom to be as large as a dinner plate!  As a member of the daisy family, they have similar petals in many more clusters.  The simple yet elegant Dahlia come in a wide-variety of colors.  We happen to fancy the pink!

Freesia – With their trumpet-like petals and long, lanky stems, the delicate freesia can add height and drama to your arrangement or add a subtle touch to a man’s lapel on the big day!  Freesia comes in the softest white, golden yellow, orange, red, pink, mauve, lavender, purple and bi-colors. Because of its notable fragrance, freesia is a favorite in many fragrance oils, candles, soaps and aromatherapy.  This is a spring flower that will add beauty and elegance to any in-home arrangement or bridal bouquet –you’re your most relaxing massage!

These sweet smellers are also very popular candle scents. With their thick emerald green leaves and petals that resemble a star burst, the hyacinth is a sure crowd pleaser year after year.

Peony – The peony epitomizes beauty and grace.  The Audrey Hepburn of flowers.  The elegant peony is most popularly known for its small, tightly closed buds, but when the peony blooms, the flower explodes into a large, round ball overflowing with the sweet smell of spring!  Light pink, hot pink and white are the most popular shades of the peony.  This is an absolute favorite among spring brides.

These are just a few of our spring favorites.  We hope you’ll stop by our shop and welcome spring to the Vail Valley with us.  Give us a call and let us create a beautiful spring palette for you or create the wedding of your dreams.  You can see some of our creations on the web at www.cedarsflowershop.com   You’ll be glad you did!  Cedar’s Flowers Shop -  Pretty.
